San Mauro Pascoli
Birthplace of the poet Giovanni Pascoli, and flourishing agricultural and shoe-making centre. The centre of the town is developed around Piazza Mazzini, not far from which you can admire the house of the well-known poet, transformed into a small museum that preserves the rooms intact.
Also of great interest is the estate of the princes of Torlonia, which included the villa, a chapel, the residence of the farmer, Pascoli's father, and some farmhouses.
San Marino
Perched atop Mount Titano at an altitude of more than 800 metres, San Marino possesses the unique charm of the oldest republic in Europe. From its panoramic terrace, a fascinating view stretching out to the sea awaits you, and its streets are steeped in history and tradition, which you can also savour dish after dish in the numerous small restaurants.
Capital of the outletevery year attracts fashion-loving tourists from all over the world, looking for designer clothes at bargain prices!
Gradara
The castle is famous for the love sung by Dante in Canto V of the Inferno, between the two lovers Paolo and Francesca da Rimini. L'evocative and fascinating atmosphere of the Borgo and the Rocca are the natural backdrop for numerous events just a few kilometres from the Romagna Riviera.
Not to be missed is the Assault on the Castle, an event that takes Gradara back in time, with medieval costumes and representations.
Verucchio
His ancient origins are still preserved in the Archaeological Museumwith finds dating back to the Iron Age and the Etruscan people. Going further into history, Verucchio, with its Malatestian Fortresswas the home of the Malatesta family in the Late and Middle Ages, and reached the peak of its glory under this Rimini seigniory.
Thanks to its privileged and spectacular locationyour gaze will be cast both over the entire coastline and towards the first Apennine mountains.
Saint Leo
In heart of the Marecchia Valley, on a 600-metre hill, San Leo is the historical capital of Montefeltro. In addition to the fortress, the parish church and the cathedral, it is also known for that mysterious and fascinating character who was the Count Cagliostroimprisoned in the fort and died in 1795.
Other illustrious figures also passed through San Leo, such as Dante, who found inspiration here to create the Purgatory of the Divine Comedy, and St Francis.
